Washington DC Corntoss Challenge
Bottoms Up to Down ALS annually hosts a Young Faces of ALS (
YFALS) Corntoss Tournament in Washington, D.C., and we are excited for 2018! The YFALS campaign was created by people under the age of 30 that are either ALS patients or have been deeply affected by the disease. The YFALS mission is twofold: to raise money for the ALS Therapy Development Institute (
TDI)—the only nonprofit biotech solely devoted to finding a cure for ALS; and to raise awareness that ALS does not discriminate by age. The YFALS corntoss tournament is the campaign’s flagship fundraising event, held each year in cities throughout the country.
“As an Air Force veteran, having lost my grandmother and father to ALS, funding research to find a cure is important for my family and my family in arms. I only hope no other family has to endure what mine, and millions of Americans have.”
-Teresa Thurtle, Bottoms Up 2 Down ALS Founder
