For the first time in almost 100 years, a total solar eclipse will cross the entire United States on August 21! A partial eclipse (with the moon blocking up to 82% of the Sun) will be visible in the Washington, DC, area from 1:17 pm to 4:01 pm EDT, with maximum eclipse at 2:42 pm EDT.
Join us at the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center in Chantilly, Virginia, to view the eclipse and participate in eclipse-related activities and programming. Pick up a free pair of eclipse glasses, view the sun through safe solar telescopes, make your own pinhole eclipse viewer, and talk to our experts about eclipses.
