The British are coming to the National Air and Space Museum’s Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center! Join us as we celebrate the 100th anniversary of the oldest air force in the world, the Royal Air Force (RAF), with a fly-in, presentations, and hands-on activities. #RAF100 #GBFlyIn
Activities include:
– Over ten former RAF aircraft, flown in and on display at the Udvar-Hazy Center for one day only, including an Avro Lancaster, Spitfires, B-25D Mitchell “Grumpy,” and P-51 Mustangs.
– Come early at 8:00 am to watch the aircraft arrive and watch the aircraft depart and do a fly-by of the museum when the event ends around 4:00 pm
– Talks by RAF officers and Museum experts
– Presentations about the Museum’s Sopwith Camel, one of the most significant and famous of all World War I aircraft
– Performances from the RAF Band and drill displays from the Queen’s Colour Squadron
– Interactive STEM demonstrations
