George Mason University Jazz Ensemble (Student Band)

“The Mason Jazz Ensemble, directed by Jim Carroll, offers many opportunities for improvisation, performance, recording, writing, leadership and service. This ensemble performs at venues including the Center for Arts, Hylton Performing Arts Center, historic Blues Alley, and many more. Fall 2011, they traveled to Beijing China for a performance at the Shanghai Concert Hall. A highpoint of students’ time in the Mason Jazz Ensemble is Jazz 4 Justice©, an annual concert that combines the Mason Jazz department with local law communities to raise money for the Mason Jazz Studies program and public access to justice.”
