The Rotary Club of Washington DC is hosting the second annual DC Duck Race and Festival on May 6, 2017 at The Yards Park in Washington DC. The Annual Duck Race is a fun event and festival that brings the community together in support of local non-profits and organizations. Participants will enjoy music, entertainment, food, a kids zone, artists, activities and much more!
Members of the community are able to sponsor numbered, floating rubber ducks that will participate in a race on a contained course along the Anacostia River, with funds supporting the Rotary Club and community organizations. The Grand Prize is a 6-day/5-night trip to Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic or Cancun in Mexico for 2 adults and up to 2 children under the age of 12, or a Special Duck worth $1,000,000*! No need to be present to win.
More information can be found at the www.dcduckrace.org.
Million-dollar* duck: One duck in every 3,000 ducks in the duck race will be randomly selected as a potential winning million dollar duck. The winning duck numbers are selected prior to the race and kept in a sealed security envelope. When the first adopted duck crosses the finish line, a race official will determine whether the duck is one of the pre-selected million-dollar winning ducks. If it is, the duck adopter wins the million dollar* prize. If it is not, the million dollars will not be awarded. The odds of being pre-selected as a potential winner of the Million Dollar Duck are approximately 1:3000. The odds of being the 1st place duck will depend on the total number of entries. *The million-dollar prize is paid in 40 equal annual installments of $25,000 each, without interest.
