Cedar Realty Trust, Inc.,is proud to announce that Minnesota Avenue Main Street, a Downtown Ward 7 Initiative operated by Washington Area Community Investment Fund (Wacif), will host the annual Art All Night 2018 at East River Park for the first time on Saturday, September 29 from 7p.m. – 11 p.m.
Art All Night is sponsored by The Department of Small and Local Business Development (DSLBD) and D.C. Commission on the Arts and Humanities (DCCAH). This free festival is hosted in a variety of indoor and outdoor spaces throughout Washington, D.C. including the neighborhoods of Congress Heights, Deanwood Heights, Dupont Circle, H Street, Minnesota Avenue, North Capitol, Shaw and Tenleytown,
Ward 7’s theme for Art All Night is ‘Old School Tribute’, spotlighting Ward 7 native Marvin Gaye and celebrating Ward 7’s thriving communities. Live performances will take place at East River Park Shopping Center from 7:00 p.m. to 10 p.m. and local artist Ira Bell will be live-painting a temporary mural on the exterior wall of a building.
The Dorothy I. Height/Benning Library will be hosting artisans and makers featuring jazz music, poetry reading, photography and more, and CulturalDC is debuting their latest art exhibit featuring dreamscape collages of DC neighborhoods in the Mobile Art Gallery, a 40-ft storage container transformed into a traveling art gallery.

Attendees can ride the East Side Shuttle with stops at Deanwood Heights, Minnesota Avenue and H Street/Oklahoma Streetcar stop to visit all that their neighborhoods have to offer from 5 p.m. to midnight. Mayor Muriel Bowser and other city officials are expected to celebrate along with residents throughout the evening.
