Homogenic turn’s 20 years old this September and will rightly be featured with album listening sessions around the world. Björk, along with Mark Bell, Guy Sigsworth, Howie B and Markus Dravs produced an album that was a new style for Björk, a juxtaposition of organic instruments (strings, accordion, harp, pipe organ) and synthetic elements.
The fact that English is a second language for Björk has always allowed for a unique approach to words and phrases. On Post, Björk seemed to be writing lyrics from the perspective of an eccentric homebody given to daydreaming; on Homogenic her lyrics are arguably her most incisive and astute to date , “How could I be so immature/To think that he could replace/The missing elements in me?/How extremely lazy of me!”.
Join us to hear this incredible album as never before.
