The tournament is for the Greatest Female Emcee of All Time. We setup brackets NCAA tourney style with 32 emcees to start. We then have a panel discuss and vote on each match-up until we get down to the final match-up and decide who is the Greatest. We usually have one or two DJs present to play samples of emcee’s music. The panel is always an even number so that if there is a deadlock we can go to the crowd. The result is always a very interesting (and sometimes heated LOL) conversation about hip-hop. For the subject at hand during Women’s History month feels ideal.
